Boundary Surveys

In general, a boundary survey should be made before purchasing real property and prior to the construction of any improvements on property in which you have an interest. A boundary survey determines the property lines of a parcel of land described in a deed or referenced on a legal record plat. A boundary survey is recommended before buying, subdividing, improving or building on land. Surveying the parcel before these activities ensures that the expense and frustration of defending a lawsuit, moving a building, or resolving a boundary dispute can be avoided. A boundary survey could establish points along your property lines to clearly delineate the boundary between you and your neighbor.  This is especially useful to hunters who wish to place hunting blinds or post their property.

I’m purchasing or own a larger tract of land, acreage, that has or hasn’t been surveyed in the past. I want to know where the corners are located. I want to build a fence and need points set along the line to place my fence in the correct location. I may log my property and need to know where my lines are prior to cutting the trees.
